Healthcare training for DeKalb County

DeKalb County starts at Lilburn's doorstep: Tucker and Stone Mountain border it, and Lawrenceville Highway (US 29), the road our classroom is on, runs from the Decatur area through Tucker straight to us. Of the counties around Gwinnett, DeKalb is the one where getting to class is simplest.

We teach American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS and Heartsaver courses, the Medication Aide (CMA / Med Tech) course and anger management classes, and we bring CPR and in-service training to clinics, care homes, schools and workplaces across the county.

How to train

Three ways to train from DeKalb County

  1. Our Lilburn classroom

From Decatur and the neighborhoods around it, Lawrenceville Highway (US 29) runs northeast through Tucker straight into Lilburn. From Stone Mountain, Redan, Lithonia and Stonecrest, head north. From Brookhaven, Chamblee, Doraville and Dunwoody, the usual route is I-85 north into Gwinnett, then east.

  2. On site at your facility

DeKalb County is part of metro Atlanta and next door to our classroom, so on-site training here is part of our normal coverage, priced per group with a minimum headcount.

  3. Online, where the subject allows

CEUs and NCLEX review run online as well as in person, and anger management has a self-paced online course. Courses with a hands-on skills check — BLS, ACLS, PALS, Heartsaver and Medication Assistance — need an in-person skills session.

Which course

Who we train from DeKalb County

DeKalb has a large healthcare workforce: Emory University Hospital, Emory Decatur Hospital, Emory Hillandale Hospital and the Atlanta VA Medical Center are all in the county, along with many clinics, dental offices and senior-care communities. It is also home to Emory University, Georgia State University's Perimeter College campuses and Georgia Piedmont Technical College.

Hospital staff usually need BLS, with ACLS or PALS for emergency, critical-care and pediatric roles. Students need BLS Provider before clinical placements. Office, school and community staff who are not clinicians usually need Heartsaver instead.
