American Heart Association courses for Oakwood

Oakwood is home to the University of North Georgia's Gainesville campus, and that makes it a town full of students heading into clinical programs — most of whom need a current BLS card before their first placement.

Our classroom is in Lilburn, down I-985 and I-85. We teach American Heart Association BLS Provider, the healthcare-provider course programs ask for, along with ACLS, PALS and Heartsaver.

Which course

Who we train from Oakwood

Clinical programs commonly require BLS Provider before placements begin, and they mean the healthcare-provider course — Heartsaver is not a substitute. Your program handbook names the exact course; if it is unclear, send it to us and we will check.

Oakwood's clinics, pharmacies and care communities employ staff who need BLS too, and non-clinical staff who act as responders usually need Heartsaver CPR/AED.

Questions from Oakwood students

Still have a question? Ask us

Yes — ask us about group rates. A cohort booking together is something we are glad to quote for, and it keeps everyone on the same date.

Two years. Students in longer programs should check whether their card will still be current at their final placement, and renew ahead of it if not.

Usually not. Clinical programs almost always require BLS Provider. Heartsaver is designed for non-clinical responders.
